Re-release confirmed for two popular Gundam Thunderbolt MG Gunpla kits
Bandai Spirits has announced the return of two high-specification model kits that recreate the climactic duel from a popular Universal Century spin-off series.
These Master Grade releases depict the mobile suits in their heavily damaged states as seen in the final moments of Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt rather than their pristine factory conditions.
The “MG 1/100 High Mobility Type Zaku ‘Psycho Zaku’ (Gundam Thunderbolt Ver.) Last Session Ver.” features new molding to replicate the destruction sustained during the battle.
The kit includes a damaged head and left arm alongside broken thrusters on its massive backpack to capture the intensity of the fight against the Federation’s ace pilot.
It comes with three types of debris parts modeled after the ruined colony setting to allow builders to create a diorama-style display where the unit attempts to fire a Sturm Faust in its final moments.
The “MG 1/100 Full Armor Gundam (Gundam Thunderbolt Ver.) Last Session Ver.” mirrors this attention to detail by featuring a damaged head and shield with intricate textures included to realistically portray the aftermath of the conflict.
Both kits include water-transfer decals designed to enhance the battle-scarred look, while standard weaponry like the Giant Bazooka and Zaku Machine Gun remains included for the Zeon unit.
The Psycho Zaku kit is priced at 9,900 yen (approx. $67.00 USD / £53.00 GBP), whilst the Full Armor Gundam is priced slightly lower at 8,030 yen (approx. $54.00 USD / £43.00 GBP).
This announcement joins other Gundam franchise news revealed this week, such as the results of the Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2025 and the new STRICT-G 10th Anniversary Iron-Blooded Orphans collection.
Pre-orders for both reissue kits began on the Premium Bandai online store on the 19th of December, with shipping currently scheduled for June 2026.
