Pokémon TCG Reveals New Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Collection With Dragon Shield Accessories
Mega Rayquaza is getting a new premium Pokémon TCG collection that finally gives one of its missing international cards a dedicated release alongside the game’s first official accessories produced with Dragon Shield.
The “Pokémon TCG: Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection” combines a foil Mega Rayquaza ex promo with three additional foil cards, a complete two-card Legendary Summit Stadium, tournament accessories, and eight booster packs.
Mega Rayquaza returned to the center of the Pokémon TCG earlier this year through Japan’s “Storm Emerald” expansion, which later provided much of the card pool for the international “Mega Evolution – Delta Reign” set.
While Delta Reign retains several versions of Mega Rayquaza ex, the full-art Ultra Rare originally released in Storm Emerald was omitted from the international expansion and has now been moved into the new Premium Tournament Collection as a guaranteed foil promo.
That gives collectors a direct way to obtain the artwork without pulling it from booster packs, while the rest of the box brings together cards and accessories suited to a Mega Rayquaza-focused deck.
The complete “Pokémon TCG: Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection” includes:
- 1 foil promo card featuring Mega Rayquaza ex
- 3 foil promo cards featuring Zinnia’s Trust, Adventure Lantern, and Mega Rayquaza Cap
- 2 cards that combine to form one Legendary Summit Stadium
- 65 Mega Rayquaza-themed card sleeves produced by Dragon Shield and supplied in their own box
- 1 matching Dragon Shield deck box
- 1 plastic Pokémon coin
- 8 Pokémon TCG booster packs
- 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live
Mega Rayquaza was introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, where Rayquaza gains access to its Mega Evolution through the move Dragon Ascent rather than requiring a Mega Stone.
Those games also tied Rayquaza closely to Draconid Lorekeeper Zinnia during the Delta Episode, explaining the inclusion of Zinnia’s Trust alongside the Mega Rayquaza ex promo in the new collection.
The Dragon Shield sleeves and deck box mark the first official product collaboration between The Pokémon Company International and the specialist card accessory manufacturer, following years in which licensed Pokémon TCG accessories were produced through Ultra PRO.
Dragon Shield is best known for its trading card sleeves and deck storage products, with the new partnership giving players 65 Mega Rayquaza sleeves and a matching deck box as part of the collection.
Legendary Summit also connects the box directly to one of the major mechanics introduced alongside Mega Rayquaza this year, with the new Legendary Stadium format using two separate cards that are placed together to create a single Stadium.
The mechanic debuted in Storm Emerald before carrying across to Delta Reign, with Legendary Summit joining other paired Stadiums that expand across two pieces of artwork instead of being represented by a single card.
Mega Evolution itself only recently returned to the Pokémon TCG after a long absence, beginning with the Japanese Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia expansions before developing into the current international Mega Evolution series.
Rayquaza has also appeared across several other major Pokémon releases during the franchise’s 30th anniversary year, including a 1,083-piece LEGO display model with an exclusive Zinnia minifigure and a new Secretlab gaming chair inspired by the Hoenn Legendary.
Pokémon currently lists February 12, 2027, as the launch date for the “Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection,” with the product set to be available through retailers that normally carry Pokémon TCG products.
An official US price has not yet been listed by The Pokémon Company, and pre-orders have also yet to open through Pokémon Center US at the time of writing.
