Razer and Sanrio Reveal Adorable New Pompompurin Gaming Headset
Image by James RichardsonRazer and Sanrio are expanding their Pompompurin gaming range with a new Kraken Kitty V2 BT headset that turns the Sanrio favorite’s iconic floppy ears and brown beret into part of the headset itself.
The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT – Pompompurin Edition is set to arrive this October, following the launch of several other gaming accessories based on the popular Sanrio character earlier this year.
Pompompurin is celebrating his 30th anniversary in 2026, and the golden retriever has enjoyed an especially successful year after taking first place in the Sanrio Character Ranking for the second consecutive year, receiving more than seven million votes.
Razer’s first dedicated Pompompurin range arrived in July with a DeathAdder Essential mouse, Gigantus V2 M mouse mat and Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard, all using the character’s warm yellow coloring and artwork across familiar Razer hardware.
The upcoming headset takes that collaboration much further by adapting the shape of the Kraken Kitty V2 BT around Pompompurin, replacing the line’s usual cat-inspired appearance with his yellow ears and trademark brown beret.
Additional Pompompurin artwork appears underneath the headband, while the earcups feature customizable RGB lighting capable of displaying more than 16.8 million colors and reacting to alerts, emotes and other activity during livestreams.
Underneath the Sanrio makeover is the familiar Kraken Kitty V2 BT hardware, including Razer TriForce 40 mm drivers designed to separate high, mid and low frequencies for clearer audio across games, music and streaming.
Bluetooth connectivity makes the headset suitable for wireless use across compatible devices, while a dedicated Gaming Mode is included to reduce latency when faster audio response is needed.
Voice chat is handled through an integrated noise-cancelling microphone designed to reduce surrounding noise, avoiding the large external boom microphone found on many traditional gaming headsets.
The headset also supports 7.1 surround sound on compatible Windows systems, while hybrid fabric and leatherette ear cushions are intended to keep it comfortable during longer gaming or streaming sessions.
Pompompurin joins a growing group of Sanrio characters to receive their own versions of Razer’s wireless headset, with Cinnamoroll and Kuromi editions of the Kraken Kitty V2 BT already part of their current lineup.
Razer has also worked extensively with Sanrio beyond the Kraken range, previously creating a wider Hello Kitty and Friends collection while offering customizable products featuring Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, Gudetama and other characters through Razer Customs.
The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT – Pompompurin Edition is priced at $139.99 and will be sold exclusively through Target in the US, where it will be available both online and at participating stores from October 4, 2026.
