Chang Wufei’s Shenlong Gundam is getting a special US online release, with a clear-color version of the popular Gundam Wing Mobile Suit joining Bandai’s latest limited-time Gunpla promotion.

The “HG 1/144 SHENLONG GUNDAM [CLEAR COLOR]” is among more than 200 Gunpla kits and related accessories included in Premium Bandai US’s Gundam Winter Fest 2026, which also features a selection of limited-edition models normally available through Gundam Base stores and events.

Shenlong Gundam appeared in the original 1995 Mobile Suit Gundam Wing anime as one of five advanced Gundams sent to Earth during Operation Meteor, with Chang Wufei serving as its pilot.

Developed by the five scientists responsible for the operation, the Gundams were designed for combat against the military organization OZ, with each machine specializing in a different fighting style and selection of weapons.

Shenlong was particularly effective in close combat, combining a powerful Beam Glaive with its signature Dragon Fang, a dragon-shaped weapon built into the Gundam’s right arm that could extend to attack enemies from a distance.

The machine was eventually upgraded into Altron Gundam, which expanded upon the original design with additional weapons and a second Dragon Fang mounted on its left arm.

Bandai originally released the clear-color Shenlong Gundam in April 2024 through Gundam Base stores, introducing a special version of the High Grade kit with transparent armor components.

Based on the standard “HG 1/144 Shenlong Gundam” from September 2022, the limited edition replaces much of the original model’s solid red, blue, white, and yellow exterior with translucent plastic that allows parts of the underlying construction to remain visible.

The alternative finish preserves Shenlong Gundam’s familiar color scheme while giving the completed model a more transparent appearance, with the contrast between the different armor sections helping to emphasize its mechanical design.

The kit retains the articulation mechanisms of the original High Grade, including movable joints within the chest that allow the upper body to bend sideways, forward, and backward.

Its cockpit block also moves in conjunction with the torso, while sliding shoulder joints provide additional flexibility for recreating Shenlong Gundam’s close-combat attacks.

One of the model’s main features is its Dragon Fang weapon, which can switch between its stored and deployed configurations using movable sections built into the right arm.

Two extension joints are also included, allowing builders to lengthen the Dragon Fang and recreate the Gundam attacking opponents from a greater distance.

The kit’s other equipment includes its signature Beam Glaive and Shenlong Shield, alongside three types of interchangeable hand parts for different weapon-holding and combat poses.

Other Gundam Wing kits are also included in the current promotion, including the “MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon EW [Cross Contrast Colors / Clear White]”, which recreates Zechs Merquise’s transforming Gundam with a special combination of white, transparent, and metallic gold components.

Another returning Gundam Base edition is the “MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW Ver.Ka [Titanium Finish]”, featuring a reflective metallic coating across Heero Yuy’s Gundam and its four large feather-like wings.

Gundam Winter Fest 2026 runs from November 6 at 5:00 PM PST until November 30 at 11:59 PM PST, with Premium Bandai US making a large selection of returning Gunpla kits, special editions, and building accessories available throughout the promotional period.

The “HG 1/144 SHENLONG GUNDAM [CLEAR COLOR]” is currently in stock through Premium Bandai US for $25, although quantities may be limited and the kit could sell out before the event ends.

Premium Bandai US also offers free shipping on qualifying orders over $99 independently of Gundam Winter Fest, so builders purchasing the Shenlong Gundam can combine it with other eligible kits or accessories to reach the required threshold.
