Highly sought after official Kirby themed Japanese card game set gets a re-release

Japanese hobby and toy company Ensky has opened pre-orders for a re-release of an officially licensed set of Hanafuda cards themed around the popular video game franchise, Kirby.
Hanafuda are traditional Japanese playing cards, known for their beautiful illustrations of flowers and plants that represent the twelve months of the year.

This collaboration, which was released first in 2019 and sold out incredibly quickly, reimagines the classic card game with the cute and colorful world of Kirby.
All 48 of the cards in the set feature original illustrations.

The artwork creatively fuses the traditional monthly themes of Hanafuda with a wide variety of characters from the Kirby series.

Familiar faces such as Kirby, Waddle Dee, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Magolor, and Chef Kawasaki are all featured in the unique designs.

The set is designed to be a beautiful collection for fans to look at, as well as a fully functional card deck.

The product includes a custom-designed plastic case for the cards and a special outer box.

A rulebook is also included, which not only explains how to play the traditional games, but also features a new, original “yaku,” or scoring combination, that is exclusive to this Kirby-themed set.
The new collection offers a charming fusion of a classic, traditional Japanese pastime with a globally beloved video game franchise.

The “Kirby Hanafuda” set is priced at ¥3,300 and pre-orders for the card set are currently open on the official Ensky online shop.
The product is scheduled to be shipped to customers in October 2025.
