Pre-orders open for new Kill la Kill figure that recreates Ryuko Matoi’s iconic transformation scene

Good Smile Arts Shanghai has opened pre-orders for a new scale figure of Ryuko Matoi, the protagonist of the popular anime series, Kill la Kill.
The new figure, titled “Ryuko Matoi: Transformation Ver.,” is a 1/7 scale, non-articulated statue.

Kill la Kill, an original anime from the acclaimed Studio Trigger, is a high-octane action series famous for its hyper-stylized animation and its unique story about sentient, super-powered school uniforms.

Ryuko Matoi is the series’ rebellious and determined main character, who wields one half of a giant pair of scissors as her signature weapon.

This new figure is designed to capture the iconic and dynamic moment of her transformation into her powered-up state.

The sculpt depicts Ryuko with her hair flowing in the air and a look of firm resolve, aiming to showcase both her strength and her delicate, feminine physique.

The figure stands at approximately 23 centimeters tall and is displayed on a special, themed diorama base.

The base is designed to look like shattered rubble that has been broken by her Scissor Blade, and it also incorporates the show’s distinctive, bold title logo, further evoking the art style of the original anime.

The pre-painted, complete figure offers fans a new, high-quality display piece that captures the explosive energy of the series.

The “Ryuko Matoi: Transformation Ver.” figure is priced at ¥14,900 (approx. $101 USD/£76 GBP) and is scheduled to be released in August 2026.

Pre-orders are now open via the official Good Smile Company online store.
