Pre-orders open for Gunpla kit of Gundam Naion from “Witch from Mercury” side story
Pre-orders have officially opened for a new model kit of a popular mobile suit from a spinoff of the “The Witch from Mercury” series, the Gundam Naion.
The Gundam Naion is a mobile suit from “Mobile Suit Gundam – The Witch from Mercury: Vanadis Heart,” an official side-story manga that takes place before the main anime series.
This pre-order announcement follows the reveal earlier this year that the Naion would be turned into a Gunpla kit.
Pre-orders have also recently opened for a re-release of two Gunpla kits based on the same series, with both the Gundam Lfrith Anavata and Gundam Lfrith Jiu now available to order again.
This new High Grade (HG) 1/144 scale model kit brings the unique mobile suit from the comic to life for the first time.
The model faithfully reproduces the suit’s design, using clear black parts for the Shell Units located across its body.
Builders can choose to represent the Shell Units in either their glowing, active state or their dormant, non-active state by using the included foil stickers.
The color separation on the mobile suit’s backpack is achieved entirely through molded plastic parts.
The Gundam Naion’s distinctive weaponry has all been recreated with newly sculpted parts.
Its main weapon, the “Vajra,” is mounted on a flexible arm and features a barrel that can be expanded to reveal the muzzle, as well as a movable hand grip.
The “Alterable Bayonetta” can be held in various poses and comes with a clear beam effect part.
The suit’s remote “GUND-Bits,” named “Rinko,” can also be detached and displayed in a deployed, flying formation by using a separately sold “Weapon Display Base.”
A standard beam saber is also included, with the hilt able to be stored on the side of the head, as seen in the manga.
The “HG 1/144 Gundam Naion” is priced at 3,300 yen (approx. $22.27 USD / £16.59 GBP), with the model kit scheduled to be shipped to customers in September 2025.
