Pre-orders open as new Sanrio and SPY×FAMILY collab merch revealed

The popular TV anime series SPY×FAMILY has revealed a new collaboration with Sanrio.

The announcement included the reveal of a key visual and details regarding plans for merchandise sales, both through online sales channels and a series of pop-up shops in Japan.

This partnership brings together the espionage-comedy world of the Forger family with the iconic designs of Sanrio’s universe.

SPY×FAMILY has quickly become a global phenomenon since its anime adaptation, known for its unique premise of a spy, an assassin, and a telepath forming a makeshift family.

Sanrio, meanwhile, has cultivated a worldwide following for decades with characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pompompurin, embodying cuteness and friendship.

The collaboration’s main visual features Anya Forger and Hello Kitty exchanging costumes, depicted as if they are going on an outing together.

Surrounding them are additional deformed-style illustrations of other character pairings, all based on the same theme.

The character pairings for the collaboration will be:

• Loid Forger and Pompompurin
• Anya Forger and Hello Kitty
• Yor Forger and My Melody
• Bond Forger and Cinnamoroll

These new illustrations will be featured on various merchandise available at upcoming pop-up shops and online.

The first pop up shop is scheduled to open at Ikebukuro Loft from August 13th (Wednesday) to August 31st (Sunday).

The pop-up shop is then planned to tour other locations, including the Umeda Loft store in Osaka and the Tenjin Loft store in Fukuoka.

Further details regarding event specifics and purchase bonuses will be released at a later date.

For those eager to secure items early, pre-orders for the collaboration merchandise began on June 10th (Tuesday) at 4:00 PM JST via the TOHO animation STORE online platform.

Goods purchased during this pre-order period are expected to ship starting in September, after the conclusion of the Ikebukuro Loft pop-up shop.
