Powerful New One Piece x Japan Football Team Promo Video Released Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026

A spectacular new collaboration between the hit manga series One Piece and the Japan Men’s National Football Team has reached its next major milestone with the launch of a special promotion video.
Titled “To Our Highest Peak,” the video premiered on Monday, June 1, 2026, across the official JFA TV platform and the series’ main YouTube channel.

The video celebrates Japan’s involvement in the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to kick off this June across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and masterfully blends intense footage of the national sports team with legendary manga panels from One Piece.

The emotional core of the project draws a direct parallel between Monkey D. Luffy’s grand journey to become the King of the Pirates and the team’s ultimate goal of capturing the world football championship.
The “ONE PIECE x Samurai Blue” project initially launched on Monday, May 25, 2026, when series creator Eiichiro Oda illustrated a custom cover for the 26th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

That magazine cover depicted Luffy sporting a custom straw hat colored in the team’s signature “Samurai Blue” while gripping a soccer ball.
Following the magazine debut, the entire national team was gifted real-life replicas of these unique blue straw hats on Friday, May 29, 2026.

To mark the gifting of these exclusive items, Oda shared an inspirational social media message addressing the importance of chasing grand ambitions with trusted companions:
“Companions gather around a serious dream.”“When you talk about your dreams, people laugh.”
“Even more so if you set a goal of being the best in the world.”
“But that’s okay.”
“Those aiming to be the best in the world will attract companions who also aim to be the best in the world.”
“You will find companions who support you instead of laughing at your dreams.”
“That is why we at ONE PIECE will never laugh at the dream of the Japan National Football Team.”
“Because we truly believe in the day that Japan becomes the king of the world.”
“Let’s go!! To our highest peak.”

Japan Football Association President Tsuneyasu Miyamoto has also expressed his deep gratitude for the partnership, noting how the shared values of teamwork and resilience perfectly align with the squad’s ambitions.

The promotional push will continue to expand throughout the month of June with a variety of specialized media features.

The 27th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, arriving on June 1, 2026, includes exclusive interviews with National Team Manager Hajime Moriyasu alongside several star players.

The 28th issue on Monday, June 8, 2026, will deliver additional athlete interviews alongside unique tournament previews illustrated by soccer-loving manga authors.

With the national team entering the World Cup tournament as one of Asia’s top-tier contenders, this dual celebration of Japanese pop culture and athletic excellence is poised to inspire fans worldwide.
