Japan’s National Football Team Gifted Exclusive One Piece Straw Hats Ahead of World Cup
One Piece has officially joined forces with the Japan Men’s National Football Team for a massive joint campaign to celebrate the squad’s involvement in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
This expansive partnership with the “SAMURAI BLUE” initially kicked off on Monday, May 25, 2026, and was highlighted by a special collaborative cover for the 26th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Series creator Eiichiro Oda drew the exclusive artwork, depicting the famous pirate captain Luffy holding a soccer ball while wearing a custom blue straw hat.
In a special update revealed on May 29, the entire team was given exclusive replica straw hats styled in the iconic blue color of the national squad.
A passionate social media message penned directly by Oda himself was released on the same day that the hats were gifted to the team, highlighting the shared themes of ambition and camaraderie between the two global powerhouses:

Japan Football Association President Tsuneyasu Miyamoto shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting how both entities inspire courage and hope across generations and borders.
He explained that the core themes of believing in friends and overcoming difficulties perfectly overlap with the SAMURAI BLUE squad’s desire to achieve the best view on the world stage.
President Miyamoto also expressed his hope that this joint effort will successfully broadcast the team’s ambitions to the world in preparation for the massive global tournament.
