Popular manga artist Bkub Okawa, known for their distinctively quirky style seen in works like Pop Team Epic, has released new fan art featuring Gyro Zeppeli from Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run.

The illustration, shared recently on social media, blends Okawa’s signature aesthetic with Araki’s iconic character design.

Bkub Okawa regularly draws fan art of other series and recently worked on a crossover between his Pop Team epic series and Code Geass.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a long-running and influential manga series by Hirohiko Araki, celebrated for its unique art style, complex narrative, and distinct character designs.

Part 7: Steel Ball Run is set in an alternate continuity, focusing on a cross-continental horse race across America.

Gyro Zeppeli is a pivotal co-protagonist in this arc, known for his eccentric personality, mastery of the Spin technique, and unique visual appearance.

Bukubu Okawa, on the other hand, is recognized for their surreal, comedic, and often irreverent art style that gained widespread attention through Pop Team Epic, a series often praised for its satirical humor and unpredictable nature.

This crossover art piece showcases a fusion of two distinct artistic voices within the manga world.

The newly revealed illustration depicts Gyro Zeppeli in Okawa’s characteristic pop and playful style.

While retaining Gyro’s defining features—such as his distinctive long hair and blue eyes—and elements from his original design like his purple attire and blue belt, Okawa’s version presents him with a cute and sassy twist.

This fan art, bringing together the seemingly divergent artistic directions of Bukubu Okawa and Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, has generated considerable buzz on social media.

Fans have reacted with comments praising the art as “too good,” noting how “cool and cute can coexist,” and even remarking on “a strange allure” in this depiction of Zeppeli.

Bukubu Okawa has a history of creating fan art for various other popular series, often reinterpreting well-known characters through their unique artistic lens, with a recent piece of fanart based on Pokémon’s Lillie receiving a similarly positive response from fans.
