The second wave of a unique collaboration between the Pokémon franchise and the prestigious lacquerware specialist Yamada Heiando has been announced.

The new products, which launched on Thursday, the 7th of August, 2025, continue to blend the world of Pokémon with the traditional Japanese art of “Maki-e” lacquerware.

Each bowl is handcrafted from natural wood and finished with genuine lacquer.

The Pokémon on each piece are not printed, but are individually hand-painted by artisans with decades of experience using the traditional “Maki-e” technique, where gold powder is sprinkled onto wet lacquer to create a design.

A brand-new product line, the “Pokémon Soup Bowl,” is also making its debut.

This larger style of bowl is launching with an initial design featuring the franchise mascot, Pikachu.

The bowls are designed to be both beautiful and practical.

Made from natural wood, they have excellent heat-insulating properties, meaning they do not become hot to the touch even when filled with hot soup, making them safe for children to use.
