TAITO Unveils Elegant New Yu Yu Hakusho Kurama DRESSTA Figure

TAITO has officially revealed a brand-new DRESSTA figure inspired by Yu Yu Hakusho, with fan-favorite character Kurama becoming the latest release in the company’s growing line of dynamic display statues.

The new figure recreates one of Kurama’s most memorable techniques, combining an intricately sculpted figure with dramatic translucent effect parts to capture the energy of battle.

Originally created by Yoshihiro Togashi, Yu Yu Hakusho became one of the defining action anime and manga series of the 1990s, following teenage delinquent Yusuke Urameshi after he is unexpectedly given a second chance at life as a Spirit Detective tasked with protecting the human world from supernatural threats.

Among the series’ most popular characters is Kurama, a legendary fox demon who once lived as a feared thief in the Demon World before taking on the human identity of Shuichi Minamino.

Although he appears as a calm, intelligent high school student with distinctive red hair and green eyes, Kurama conceals immense demonic power beneath his composed personality.

When returning to his original demon form, he gains long silver hair, golden eyes, fox ears, and a tail, while his personality becomes noticeably colder and more ruthless.

Kurama is known for fighting with demonic plant life, most famously using his iconic Rose Whip to overwhelm opponents with elegant yet deadly techniques.

The new DRESSTA release focuses on his spectacular Rose Whip Thorn Wheel attack, surrounding the figure with swirling translucent pink energy effects and cascading rose petals that create the illusion of movement from every viewing angle.

The carefully layered clear effect parts weave naturally around Kurama’s body, emphasizing both the graceful beauty of the technique and its devastating power.

His calm expression, subtle smile, and composed stance perfectly capture the confidence that has made the character one of the franchise’s most enduring fan favorites.

Great attention has also been paid to the sculpt itself, from the flowing movement of his clothing and signature hairstyle to the finely detailed hands as he performs his attack.

The combination of dynamic visual effects and detailed sculpting reflects the core philosophy behind TAITO’s DRESSTA series, which blends highly detailed character figures with elaborate display elements to recreate memorable scenes from anime and games.

Including the display base, the completed figure measures approximately 19.8 cm tall, making it an eye-catching display piece without requiring excessive shelf space.

Pre-orders are set to open on June 30 and can be placed exclusively through the TAITO GEAR&GOODS store until August 14, 2026.

The “Yu Yu Hakusho DRESSTA Kurama” is priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $60 USD / £44 GBP), and pre-orders are currently scheduled to be shipped in November 2026.
