Patlabor EZY Receives New Trailer, Key Visual, and Theme Song Details

The upcoming Patlabor EZY anime series is generating significant buzz with the release of a new trailer and key visual for its first chapter.

This new installment in the long-running Mobile Police Patlabor franchise will be distributed as an eight episode series across a three chapter theatrical release in Japan.

The first segment, titled File 1, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 15, 2026.

Following this, File 2 will arrive on August 14, 2026, while the final installment, File 3, is set for a March 2027 release.

The narrative structure for the first six episodes in File 1 and File 2 will follow an anthology format consisting of standalone stories.

In contrast, the final two episodes contained in File 3 will provide a continuous story to conclude the series.

Hololive VTuber Mori Calliope has been confirmed as the performer for the opening theme song of the first chapter, a track titled Reimei Compass.

The ending theme song, titled Baton, will be performed by veteran singer Mariko Nagai, who is well known for her work on the Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl soundtrack.

The voice cast features Sumire Uesaka and Kikunosuke Toya in the lead roles, bringing new life to the Special Vehicle Section 2.

The production is being handled by animation studio J.C. Staff under the direction of Yutaka Izubuchi, with scripts provided by Kazunori Ito.

Set in the 2030s, the story explores a world where Labor machines have become obsolete due to AI-driven automation, yet the members of Division 2 continue to protect the city using the tuned-up AV-98Plus Ingram.
