New Tougen Anki game to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2025

Game developer Com2uS Japan has announced that a new game based on the manga series Tougen Anki will have its first public showing at the Tokyo Game Show this year.
The company also revealed the official title for the in-development project, which will be called Tougen Anki: Crimson Inferno.
The game is part of a larger, multi-media initiative called the “Tougen Anki Project,” which aims to adapt the popular manga into various formats.
The source material, created by Yura Urushibara and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion, has seen its circulation numbers surpass four million copies.

Its story offers a dark reinterpretation of the classic Japanese folktale of “Momotarō,” or the Peach Boy.
Instead of a simple tale of good versus evil, the manga depicts a long-running, bloody conflict between the descendants of the monstrous oni and the descendants of the hero Momotarō.
The Tougen Anki Project previously announced a stage play adaptation and a TV anime series, which is scheduled to begin its broadcast this month in July 2025.

Tougen Anki’s anime series is widely expected to be a hit with fans and a scale figure of the series’ protagonist Shiki Ichinose has already been announced by respected manufacturer Kotobukiya.

The upcoming game, Crimson Inferno, marks the third major component of the franchises expansion.
Com2uS Japan is developing the title as a role-playing game that will adhere closely to the anime’s established world and character settings.
The game is being built with 3D graphics and is intended to provide an immersive experience for players.

It is being developed for a multi-platform release on both mobile devices and PC.
The decision to unveil the game at the Tokyo Game Show highlights the event’s importance as a global stage for major new game announcements.
The Tokyo Game Show 2025 is scheduled to take place this September at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe, with the show set to feature the largest number of exhibitors to date.

For those planning to attend, ticket information, including sales dates and prices, has recently been confirmed.
