Gundam’s Most Famous Rivals Inspire New Replica Outfit Bottle Holders
A new piece of Mobile Suit Gundam merchandise is giving fans a practical way to showcase their love for two of the franchise’s most iconic characters.
Bandai’s latest merch release transforms the famous uniforms worn by Amuro Ray and Char Aznable into highly detailed bottle holders that combine everyday functionality with collectible appeal.
Mobile Suit Gundam remains one of the most influential anime franchises ever created, introducing audiences to the rivalry between Earth Federation pilot Amuro Ray and Zeon ace Char Aznable.
Their conflict helped define the original series and has remained one of the most celebrated character rivalries in anime history for more than four decades.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam Bottle Holder Amuro Ver.” and “Mobile Suit Gundam Bottle Holder Char Ver.” draw directly from the characters’ recognizable uniforms, recreating them as three-dimensional accessories rather than relying on simple printed artwork.
Each design faithfully reproduces the distinctive costumes of the two pilots.
The holders are designed to look like Amuro and Char are standing with their hands positioned on their hips, mirroring poses often associated with the characters.
Those sculpted arms are more than decorative elements, as they also provide a comfortable grip when carrying a drink, and inside each holder is an insulated lining intended to help maintain the temperature of both hot and cold beverages for longer periods.
A zippered closure keeps bottles securely in place while travelling or commuting.
Each holder measures approximately 15 cm wide, 20 cm tall, and 9 cm deep, making them suitable for standard 600 ml plastic bottles as well as similarly sized reusable drink containers.
The detailed construction gives the impression of miniature uniforms wrapped around the bottle, creating a distinctive display piece even when not in use.
For Gundam fans looking to add something different to their collection, the bottle holders offer a blend of novelty, practicality, and character-focused design that stands apart from more traditional merchandise.
Pre-orders for both versions are currently available through Premium Bandai Japan, with each holder priced at ¥5,280 (approx. $36 USD/ £27 GBP) ahead of their scheduled August 2026 release.
