New Mobile Suit Z Gundam “ROBOT Spirits” action figure announced

BANDAI SPIRITS has officially announced the next ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> action figure will be a mobile armor from Mobile Suit Z Gundam.
The “ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> NRX-044 Asshimar ver. ANIME” will take the transformable mobile armor and turn it into an anime accurate action figure.
Mobile Suit Z Gundam, which aired from 1985 to 1986, is the critically acclaimed sequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Set in the Universal Century timeline, it delves into a darker, more complex conflict between the oppressive Earth Federation task force, the Titans, and the rebel Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).
The series is known for its sophisticated mobile suit designs, many of which feature complex transformation capabilities.
The NRX-044 Asshimar is a mass-produced transformable mobile armor used by the Titans.

Its unique, flying saucer-like mobile armor mode and its ability to achieve atmospheric flight under its own power made it a formidable and memorable adversary in the series.
The “ROBOT Spirits” series of action figures is one of the flagship lines under BANDAI SPIRITS’ Tamashii Nations brand.
It is highly regarded by collectors for its commitment to recreating mobile suits with anime-accurate proportions, intricate detailing, and advanced articulation that allows for dynamic posing.

The “ver. ANIME” figures are specifically designed to replicate memorable scenes and action sequences directly from their respective anime source materials, often including extensive accessories and effect parts.
BANDAI SPIRITS’ official X accounts for Gundam figures and Tamashii Nations have teased that a “transformation mechanism gimmick” for the figure will be revealed shortly.

This suggests that there might be some form of innovation with regards to how the figure switches between its mobile suit and mobile armor forms.
As one of the most unique and recognizable mobile suits from Mobile Suit Z Gundam, the “ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> NRX-044 Asshimar ver. ANIME” is expected to appeal to both long-time fans of Z Gundam and collectors of novel mobile suit designs regardless of the series.
While the release date and price are yet to be revealed, these details are expected to be unveiled shortly alongside additional images of the figure.
