New interactive plush of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Time Wizard doubles as the most unreliable alarm clock

Kotobukiya has begun accepting pre-orders for a unique, interactive plush toy of the monster “Time Wizard” from the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
Time Wizard is a monster famously used by the character Katsuya Jounouchi, known as Joey Wheeler in the English dub.

In the card game and anime, Time Wizard’s signature “Time Magic” effect is a gamble.

It forces a coin toss or a spin of a roulette wheel, which has a fifty-fifty chance of either aging and strengthening friendly monsters or causing them to be destroyed in a self-inflicted failure.

This new plush toy cleverly translates that iconic, chance-based ability into a real-world product with two distinct electronic functions.

The plush itself is a 1/1 scale recreation, standing at 22 centimeters tall when seated, and features internal wiring in its arms and legs for posing.

It contains a removable sound unit that powers its special features.
The first function is the “Alarm! 1/2 Mode,” which turns the plush into an alarm clock with a chaotic twist.

After setting an alarm time, a “Time Roulette” sound effect will play, and when the set time arrives, there is a fifty percent chance the alarm will successfully go off, accompanied by vibrations.

If it fails the coin toss, however, the alarm will not activate at all, perfectly replicating the monster’s unreliability.

The second function is the “Instant! 1/2 Mode,” which acts as a quick decision-making tool.

When activated, the plush will play the roulette sound for thirty seconds before outputting either a “success” or “failure” sound effect, allowing users to leave everyday choices up to chance.

The plush also comes with an adjustable strap for portability and Kotobukiya has released a promo video showing it in action:
The “Time Magic! Time Wizard 1/2 Support Plushie” is priced at 6,050 yen (approx. $40.95 USD / £30.48 GBP) and pre-orders are currently open via the official Kotobukiya store.

Shipping to customers is currently scheduled for December 2025.
This new plush is one of several recently announced pieces of Yu-Gi-Oh! merchandise, including a Nendoroid figure of Joey Wheeler and a super cute Sanrio collaboration.
