Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (IBO), which concluded its main television anime series in 2017, gained significant acclaim for its gritty, post-apocalyptic setting, unique Gundam designs, and focus on visceral, close-quarters combat.

Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt is a mobile game and upcoming animated spin-off that further explores this universe, introducing new Mobile Suits and characters.

The “High Grade (HG)” line, at 1/144 scale, is known for its balance of ease of assembly, good articulation, and detailed representation, making it a popular choice for fans looking to build their favorite Mobile Suits from across the franchise.

The Gundam Zagan stands out primarily due to its distinctive weaponry and armor and the new Gunpla kit recreates the unique design and functionalities of the Gundam as seen in Urdr Hunt.

The defining feature of the Gundam Zagan is its prominent shield pliers unit and the new HG kit faithfully reproduces this part, allowing builders to display it in various configurations, from a defensive shield to an offensive grappling or crushing weapon.

To accommodate the large shield pliers and enable dynamic action poses, movable axes have been strategically installed in various parts of the arm section, ensuring exceptional flexibility and range of motion.

The front of the shoulder armor is designed to move independently, further ensuring that the arms have an unhindered range of motion, crucial for wielding its unique weaponry.

Additionally, two ball axes are integrated into the shoulders and arms, significantly boosting the overall articulation and poseability.

The kit includes interchangeable hand parts, providing both left and right gripping hands for holding weapons and flat hands for expressive gesturing, allowing for a wide array of display options.

The “HG 1/144 Gundam Zagan” Gunpla kit is priced at 3,080 yen ($21.25 USD / £15.70 GBP).

Pre-orders are currently being accepted through most hobby shops and specialist model kit retailers.

The Gunpla kit is due to be released in December 2025 and will further expand the number of Iron-Blooded Orphans Gunpla kits available.
