Netflix confirms global exclusivity for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run anime

New details have been announced for the previously confirmed and highly anticipated anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run.

The most significant new reveal is that the series will be streamed exclusively on the platform Netflix worldwide.

This follows the same global distribution model that was used for the anime’s previous part, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.

Steel Ball Run is a fan-favorite and critically acclaimed part of the long-running JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure saga by Hirohiko Araki.

The story is a reinvention of the franchise, set in an alternate universe in the year 1890, and it follows the story of a former jockey named Johnny Joestar and a mysterious man named Gyro Zeppeli as they compete in a bizarre, cross-country horse race across America.

The new anime adaptation will be produced by the acclaimed studio David Production, which has handled all of the previous seasons of the anime.

Many of the key creative staff from the previous seasons will be returning for this new project.

The series will be directed by Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, with Toshiyuki Kato as the series director.

Yasuko Kobayashi will once again oversee the series scripts, and the music will be composed by the returning Yūgo Kanno.

Further details regarding the new anime, such as its cast and a specific release window, have not yet been announced.

A global livestream event is scheduled to be held on the 23rd of September, which will reveal more information about the new adaptation.
