My Melody and Kuromi team up with SPINNS for “nostalgic kawaii” collection
Sanrio has announced a new collaboration between My Melody and Kuromi and prominent Japanese fashion retailer SPINNS.
This new collection, based on the theme ‘Kawaii of the past is back!’, promises a fresh take on classic Y2K and nostalgic Gyaru fashion influences.
Sanrio, established in 1960, has created a vast universe of characters, with My Melody and Kuromi standing out as fan favorites.
My Melody, with her sweet and honest demeanor, contrasts perfectly with Kuromi’s rebellious and mischievous nature, creating a dynamic duo that appeals to a broad audience.
SPINNS has carved out a niche in the Japanese fashion scene, particularly among teenagers and young adults, by offering a diverse range of clothing that often incorporates pop culture trends and unique collaborations.
The “My Melody and Kuromi x SPINNS collaboration” will feature a variety of apparel and accessories designed with a retro cute aesthetic in mind, including cropped t-shirts, slip dresses and accessories.

The My Melody and Kuromi x SPINNS collab is one of the latest collaborations announced in celebration of My Melody’s 50th and Kuromi’s 20th anniversaries this year, joining other fashion brands such as ‘& chouette’ and ‘JILL by JILL STUART’.
The full collection is set for release in SPINNS stores nationwide starting July 11th, 2025.
