Migratory Birds And Snail: Anime Adaptation Launching in 2027

The sixth volume of Makoto Takatsu’s road-living manga series Migratory Birds And Snail was released in Japan on March 25, 2026.

The cover of the new volume reveals that a television anime adaptation is officially in production and is scheduled to air in 2027.

Known in Japan as Wataridori to Katatsumuri, the manga is written and illustrated by Makoto Takatsu and has been serialized on Wani Books’ NewsCrunch web magazine since its debut in 2019.

The story centers on Unpei Mochizuki, a mechanic who feels unfulfilled in his daily life and decides to escape his routine after making a significant error at work.

His life changes when he meets Tsugumi Nagisa, a digital nomad and illustrator who travels in a customized van named Sumika.

The two characters embark on a journey across Japan, exploring the freedom of life on the road and visiting various locations such as the Yufuin roadside station.

While the broadcast year is confirmed for 2027, further production details regarding the animation studio and voice cast have not yet been disclosed.

The release of the sixth volume coincides with the scheduled update of the thirty-fifth chapter of the manga on the NewsCrunch platform.
