Jaleco Sports: Goal! 2 Launches on PS5 and Switch

Publisher Rock It Games and developer Sickhead Games have officially announced the release of Jaleco Sports: Goal! 2 for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

The classic sports compilation launched on April 2, 2026, and is currently available for purchase at a price of $7.99.

This new collection features four titles from the Jaleco library, including three games from the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom era.

The included retro titles are the 1989 North American release of Goal! Two, the 1989 European version known as Goal! 2, and the original 1989 Japanese Famicom title Goal!.

Rounding out the package is Super Goal! 2, which originally debuted on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992.

Goal! Two represents a significant shift for the series, moving from the top-down perspective of the first entry to an angled overhead view with a scrolling field.

This 8-bit sequel also expanded the roster to 24 teams and 15 players per team, allowing users to select 11 starters based on specific athlete statistics.

The 16-bit Super Goal! 2 further evolved the franchise by introducing side-scrolling gameplay and 24 international teams.

This Super Nintendo sequel also added modern features such as instant replays and full-field radar views to help players track the action.

Strategic depth was enhanced in the final title through the addition of four defensive formations and more precise player control mechanisms.

Rock It Games released a series of trailers for the PlayStation 5 and Switch versions to coincide with the launch on April 2, 2026.
