MF GHOST Final Season Anime Enters Production

Production for the concluding chapter was confirmed on March 26, 2026, coinciding with the broadcast of the third season’s finale.

The announcement was made via the series’ official X account, which shared a teaser visual featuring protagonist Kanata Rivington’s Zenki Toyota 86 GT.

The story is set in the 202X decade, a period where Japan has largely transitioned to self-driving electric vehicles, making traditional internal combustion engines nearly obsolete.

Despite this shift, gas-powered racing thrives in the MFG, a specialized circuit held on public Japanese motorways that attracts top drivers from across the globe.

Kanata Rivington, a graduate of the Royal Donington Park Racing School in Britain, enters the circuit to compete for the title and to search for his missing father.

While a specific release date for the final season has not yet been established, the series continues the legacy of Shuichi Shigeno’s original Initial D manga.

Director Toshihito Naka, known for his work on Initial D Legend 2: Racer, led the production of the third season at studio Felix Film.

The creative team includes series compositor Kenichi Yamashita, character designer Naoyuki Onda, and composer Akio Dobashi.
