Metaphor: ReFantazio gets huge discount to celebrate over 2 million units sold
Atlus has announced that its fantasy role-playing game “Metaphor: ReFantazio” has surpassed two million units sold worldwide.
This sales figure includes both physical and digital copies of the game.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is the first major, original project from Studio Zero, an internal development team at Atlus led by the creative staff behind the modern Persona series, including director Katsura Hashino and character designer Shigenori Soejima.
The game, which was released in October 2024, is set in the fantasy world of the United Kingdom of Euchronia, where eight different tribes coexist.
Its story revolves around a high-stakes battle for the now-vacant throne.
To commemorate the sales milestone, a special celebratory illustration drawn by the game’s character designer, Shigenori Soejima, has been released.
In addition to the new artwork, the achievement is also being marked with a significant discount on the game.
As part of the ongoing Atlus “Summer Sale,” Metaphor: ReFantazio is receiving its first-ever price reduction on the PlayStation Store.
The game is currently available at a 40 percent discount both in the US and Japan, which is the largest price reduction to date.
This reduces the price from 9,878 yen to 5,926 yen within Japan, with US fans also able to grab the game for $41.99 USD, down from $69.99 USD.
The Atlus Summer Sale also features several other popular titles from the developer.
This includes a 50 percent discount on the Persona 3 Reload Digital Deluxe Edition, and a 40 percent discount on Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable.
The sale period on the PlayStation Store is scheduled to run until July 30th.
On the Nintendo eShop, the sale is expected to continue until August 11th.
