MapleStory’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End crossover event begins October 29th
The popular PC-based online MMORPG MapleStory has announced a major new collaboration with the critically acclaimed anime series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
The announcement was made by the game’s publisher, Nexon, who also launched a new, special teaser website and a promotional video for the event.
The collaboration will feature a variety of new, in-game events that will see the characters from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End appear in the Maple World.
Players will be able to adventure alongside Frieren and her companions to earn a variety of special, collaboration-themed rewards.
The new, in-game events include:
- Frieren’s Magic Collection
A daily mission where players must defeat a certain number of monsters.
Completing these adventures will unlock a variety of rewards, and special “boss defeat missions” will allow players to earn exclusive items, such as a custom background.
- Adventure with Frieren and Friends
By defeating monsters, players can fill a gauge that will cause Frieren and her party to appear and help the player in battle.
In addition to the events, a wide range of limited-edition, cash shop items will be available.
This includes avatar items that allow players to dress up as their favorite Frieren characters, as well as new “petit pets,” androids, totems, and chairs, all themed around the collaboration.
To celebrate the announcement, two different promotional campaigns are also being held.
The first is a “Pre-Collaboration Campaign,” where players who log in to the teaser site with their Maple ID can enter a daily lottery.
The prizes for this lottery include an “Adventurer’s Special Random Box” (which contains a random selection of exclusive MapleStory and collaboration-themed goods) and up to 5,000 NEXON Points.
The second is a “Follow & Repost Campaign” on the social media platform X.
By following the official MapleStory Japan account and reposting the campaign message, ten participants will be chosen by lottery to win 5,000 NEXON Points (approx. $34 USD / £27 GBP).
The “MapleStory x Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” collaboration is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, the 29th of October, and will run until the 26th of November.
The pre-collaboration lottery is open from Friday, the 17th of October, until the 29th of October.
The X repost campaign is scheduled to run from the 18th to the 23rd of October.
