Within the island nation of Mizuho, the story follows a young girl named Shiina Kuze as she hunts these invaders while caring for her younger sister, Setsuna.
Director Takayuki Hamana is leading the project at animation studio Seven Arcs, working from an original story and screenplay written by Masaki Tsuzuki.
The technical staff includes Issei Arakaki as the character designer and chief animation director, while Shuichi Kawakami provides the original sketches for characters, devices, and the signature barrier jackets.
