Krispy Kreme Reveals Exclusive Super Mario Galaxy Doughnuts and Merch

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan has announced a sweet new collaboration with Nintendo and Illumination to celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

The highly anticipated animated feature serves as a direct sequel to the massive 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which generated over 1.3 billion dollars at the global box office.

This new promotional campaign will introduce four specially designed doughnuts inspired by the beloved characters and iconic elements of the Super Mario universe.

The “Mario Strawberry” features a fluffy ring doughnut coated in bright red strawberry icing, topped with red and blue sprinkles and star-shaped sugar sprays to represent the galaxy theme.

The “Yoshi Custard Egg” is a filled doughnut packed with Hokkaido milk custard, coated in white chocolate, and decorated with a green chocolate plate to mimic Yoshi’s famous eggs.

The “Luma & Blueberry Galaxy” utilizes a white chocolate base covered with strawberry and pudding-flavored coatings, finished with a juicy blueberry glaze, silver dragees, and a colorful Luma wafer.

Fans can also purchase the “Question Block Box,” which packages a random custard-flavored doughnut inside a specialized square box mimicking the classic video game item.

Each mystery box includes a random decorative pick featuring an iconic item such as a Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Ice Flower, Red Shell, or Yoshi Egg.

To mark the occasion, Mamoru Miyano, the acclaimed voice actor portraying Mario in the Japanese dub of the film, shared his excitement regarding the tasty collaboration.

He expressed his delight at seeing his character and other fan favorites like Yoshi and Luma transformed into such adorable and detailed treats.

He also highlighted the playful nature of the Question Block Box, noting how it perfectly captures the exciting unpredictability of the original games.

This bundle includes the three character doughnuts alongside standard Original Glazed and Double Chocolate Crunch varieties, packaged in a limited-design box.

Customers who purchase the “Galaxy Dozen Half” set will receive one of three exclusive collaboration stickers at random, featuring designs of Mario, Yoshi, or Rosalina & Luma.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan is also releasing a limited-edition reusable eco-bag featuring artwork from the upcoming film, priced at 1,980 yen and restricted to 4,000 units nationwide.

During the campaign, the Shibuya Cine Tower branch will be completely transformed with special interior decorations and unique photo spots featuring characters like Princess Peach, Toad, and Bowser Jr.
