Japan’s 3D billboard ads hit peak as “sexy anime girls” appear across Tokyo and Osaka
Mobile RPG Brown Dust 2 is currently running a series of 3D outdoor advertisements across major Japanese cities, aiming to create what has been described as “the sexiest outdoor ad in the world.”
These advertisements, which are on display until the end of June, feature the game’s heroine, Eustia, in a swimsuit, promoting the game’s second anniversary.
Brown Dust 2 is a fantasy-themed role-playing game known for its tactical gameplay and its emphasis on detailed depictions of female characters, often featuring what the developers describe as “stimulating designs.”
The 3D advertisements are prominently featured in high-traffic areas across Japan, including Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Akihabara in Tokyo, and Osaka.
The content of these ads specifically showcases Eustia, the game’s heroine and female protagonist, in swimwear, promoting the game’s upcoming second anniversary.
The advertisement displayed in Osaka is particularly notable, as it combines two large displays, one vertical and one horizontal, to create a substantial visual presence.
This setup is utilized to enhance the “sexy presentation” through suggestive movements, such as Eustia emphasizing her figure by resting her chest on the display’s frame or interacting playfully with floating in-game “cassettes.”
The Osaka advertisement is located at the Dotonbori neighborhood’s Tsutaya Ebisubashi building, whilst the Akihabara advertisement is situated on the well known Onoden building.
In Shibuya, various billboards around the front of Shibuya Station will show the ad, whilst in Ikebukuro you can find it just outside the east exit.
The advert will play approximately every 15 minutes until June 29th, so if you’re passing by any of the areas listed before then, you’ll likely see crowds waiting for the next showing.
