The creative staff includes character designer Naoyuki Asano of the Urusei Yatsura remake, art director Mika Nishimura from Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, and soundtrack composer Kaori Sawasa.

The original manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine since April 2021 and has reached a milestone of nine volumes released in Japan.

This announcement follows a live-action TV drama adaptation that aired for 20 episodes on NHK General TV from November 2025 to December 2025.

The upcoming anime is a co-production between VIZ Media and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd.

The story follows 29 year old Hiroto Ikuta, a carefree individual living without a full-time job or a set plan for the future, as he and those around him navigate the complexities of life.

With over 1.1 million copies printed worldwide, the series continues to expand its reach ahead of the January 2027 broadcast on NHK General TV.
