Gundam SEED ECLIPSE’s Exclusive Aile Calamity Gunpla Kit Gets Limited-Time US Re-Release

The “FULL MECHANICS 1/100 AILE CALAMITY GUNDAM” joins a large selection of exclusive Gunpla kits, figures, and other collectibles returning for Premium Bandai Week 2026, which also offers a temporary reduction to the usual free-shipping threshold.
Image by Charlotte DavisAile Calamity Gundam originates from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE, a manga series set during Cosmic Era 72, between the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.

The story follows the Orb Disaster Relief Team (ODR) during a period of fragile peace, as the organization becomes caught up in conflicts involving powerful new Mobile Suits and the mysterious terrorist group Antifactis.

Developed by the Atlantic Federation, Aile Calamity is an experimental variation of the original Calamity Gundam, designed to combine heavy firepower with the ability to fly through Earth’s atmosphere.

Its advanced capabilities made the machine extremely difficult to operate, with development eventually suspended before it was later piloted by Antifactis commander Joel Jeanmaire-Giraud.
Bandai originally released the exclusive Full Mechanics kit in April 2022, recreating the design by mecha designer Junichi Akutsu with an extensive selection of newly molded components.

Based on the existing “FULL MECHANICS 1/100 CALAMITY GUNDAM,” the model replaces the original machine’s familiar coloring with a combination of gray and navy blue armor, alongside a redesigned backpack and additional weapons.
Its biggest feature is the pair of enormous flight modules attached to the backpack, which incorporate large wings and propulsion units that significantly expand the Mobile Suit’s silhouette.

The modules feature mechanical detailing inspired by aircraft turbofan engines, with rear intakes and sharply molded wing sections recreating the equipment developed for atmospheric flight.

Each wingtip carries a 120 mm triple-barrel Gatling Gun, with articulated mounts allowing the weapons to be adjusted vertically and horizontally.
Additional firepower comes from the shoulder-mounted 57 mm twin cannons and 220 mm four-tube multipurpose missile pods, which incorporate rotating mechanisms to recreate their different firing positions.

Another major feature is the Adler, an air-combat weapon developed specifically for Aile Calamity that can transform between four configurations without replacing parts.

These include Warhammer Mode, Rifle Mode A, Rifle Mode B, and Javelin Mode, allowing builders to recreate both close-combat and ranged attacks using the same weapon.

Warhammer Mode turns the Adler into a large striking weapon, while the two rifle configurations change the position of its main body to support different firing poses.

Javelin Mode deploys a beam blade from the weapon’s head, with a translucent pink effect part included to recreate its energy attack.

The Mobile Suit’s forearms also carry detachable Beam Gauntlets, which can deploy their blades while mounted or be removed and held directly in the hands.

Two types of beam effects are provided for the gauntlets, alongside a dedicated sheet of marking stickers featuring Aile Calamity’s unit numbers, caution markings, and additional mechanical details.
Other Gundam SEED ECLIPSE Gunpla kits have also returned to the US during Premium Bandai Week, including the “FULL MECHANICS 1/100 BOOST RAIDER GUNDAM,” which combines technology from the Raider, Calamity and Forbidden Gundams into a heavily armed transforming Mobile Suit.

Bandai has also restocked the “RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu” from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray, recreating Rondo Gina Sahaku’s heavily modified machine with black and gold armor and equipment recovered from the Blitz Gundam.
