High-end replica of Shinobu’s sword from Demon Slayer will play sound effects and quotes from the Infinity Castle movie
Pre-orders for a high-end collectible replica of the unique Nichirin Sword of the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho, from the popular anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, have officially opened.
The new replica is the latest entry in the “PROPLICA” line from Bandai Spirits.
PROPLICA is a premium brand of 1:1 scale, life-sized replicas of iconic props from popular anime and movies, which often feature built-in light and sound effects.
Shinobu Kocho’s Nichirin Sword is one of the most distinctive weapons in the series, featuring a thin, stinger-like blade designed for injecting wisteria poison and an intricate, butterfly-shaped handguard.
This new replica is a faithful, approximately 88 centimeter-long recreation of the iconic sword and its scabbard.
The replica is equipped with a variety of electronic gimmicks, including a sound module with two different modes.
The “Insect Hashira – Shinobu Kocho Mode” and the “Infinity Castle Decisive Battle Mode” feature a collection of voice lines from both the television anime and the new Infinity Castle Arc movie, and even include lines from her older sister, Kanae Kocho.
In addition to the standard sound button, the replica also features a dedicated button for activating the sound effects for her “Insect Breathing” techniques.
Other features include a “sheathing and unsheathing detection gimmick” and a “vibration gimmick,” which add to the interactive experience.
The set includes the main sword, its scabbard, a dedicated display stand, and an instructional booklet.
The “PROPLICA Nichirin Sword (Shinobu Kocho)” is priced at ¥22,000 (approx. $150 USD/£110 GBP) and is now available to pre-order via the Premium Bandai website.
