Hideo Kojima reveals his personal Domino’s Pizza order for new Death Stranding collab
Domino’s Pizza has announced a unique, limited-time, collaboration campaign with “DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH,” which offers fans an insight into developer Hideo Kojima’s personal pizza order.
This unexpected partnership brings together Japan’s largest pizza delivery service with a game that is themed around “delivery”.
“DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH” is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 title, “Death Stranding”.
Both games are the brainchild of legendary Japanese video game designer, director, and producer Hideo Kojima, known for his cinematic storytelling and innovative gameplay mechanics, most notably with the “Metal Gear Solid” series.
“DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH” is due to launch shortly and is also in the midst of a promotion with Hololive Production.
The “Death Stranding” franchise is set in a post-apocalyptic United States where a mysterious event called the “Death Stranding” has fractured society, leading to a world plagued by supernatural entities and environmental hazards.
Players control Sam Porter Bridges, a delivery man, tasked with reconnecting isolated communities across a desolate landscape.
The core gameplay loop revolves around traversing challenging terrain, managing cargo, and, crucially, making deliveries, making the collaboration with a pizza delivery service a fitting, if unconventional, tie-in.
Inspired by the thematic core of the game, Hideo Kojima and his production team at Kojima Productions have personally selected pizzas and made recommendations on how to customize them in line with their own personal tastes.
Each of the recommended pizzas come with a 250ml can of Red Bull Energy Drink.
Kojima’s personal recommendations for the collaboration sets include two different pizza options:
- Giga Meat Pizza
This features a crispy crust and a special mayonnaise sauce, designed to fully accentuate the meaty texture.
- Charcoal Grilled Chikiteri Pizza
To tailor this familiar menu item to his taste, Kojima recommends a crispy crust, removing spinach, and adding corn, resulting in an “addictive sweet and spicy taste”.
Both of Kojima’s recommended pizzas are available for takeaway starting from 1,199 yen (with coupon 006792) and for delivery starting from 1,499 yen (with coupon 773454).
Prices are based on a small pizza, and additional charges apply for crust changes or extra toppings.
They can also be ordered as part of the Pizza BENTO, which features a small pizza and a side dish.
Takeaway prices for the Pizza BENTO versions star from 890 yen (with coupon 006792) and for delivery starting from 1,190 yen (with coupon 773454).
The “DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH” team has also put forth their own pizza suggestions which lean towards bolder flavors:
- Garlic Master Pizza
The team recommends adding extra garlic to this already flavorful pizza.
- Spicy Pizza
The team recommend customizing this pizza by selecting a crispy crust and adding mayonnaise sauce.
The Kojima Productions development team-recommended pizzas start from 1,199 yen for takeaway (coupon 392820) and 1,499 yen for delivery (coupon 968529) for a small pizza, with additional charges for customizations.
The collaboration is set to run from Monday, June 30th, 2025, to Thursday, July 31st, 2025.
