Hatsune Miku and Hoshimachi Suisei Announce Massive New Summer Themed Collab

Hatsune Miku and Hoshimachi Suisei are teaming up for a new summer campaign for Lotte which will see them perform together for a new TV commercial amongst a variety of other promotional activities.
The campaign, which also features newly created illustrations, themed giveaways, a collaboration hotel room and several limited-time events, is built around the idea of a “cold and blue summer,” using the shared blue branding of Lotte’s Coolish and Soh ice cream lines as the visual thread connecting the entire collaboration.

Coolish is a drinkable ice cream that delivers a fast wave of cold refreshment, while Soh is as a crisp, smooth ice cream with fine ice crystals and a clean aftertaste.


Hoshimachi Suisei is one of the most recognizable VTuber singers in the world, known for her strong vocal performances and music-focused activities, while Hatsune Miku remains one of the world’s most famous virtual singers and a long-running icon of digital music culture.

For the new commercial, Miku and Suisei sing “Ao no Sumika (Where Our Blue Is),” a song written and composed by Tatsuya Kitani that perfectly fits the campaign’s “blue” theme.
“Ao no Sumika (Where Our Blue Is)” is an incredibly popular song within Japan, perhaps most well known globally as the third opening theme song for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series.

The commercial follows students struggling through the heat of summer before Miku and Suisei appear as two blue classmates carrying Coolish and Soh, giving the scene a refreshing burst of energy and turning the intense heat into something more manageable.

The key visual and character designs for the campaign were created by artist Nishiki Kope, giving both singers a seasonal look that ties into the bright blue summer concept.

The full campaign includes a 90-second version of the commercial alongside 30-second and 15-second cuts, with the TV broadcast beginning across Japan on July 7, 2026 after the campaign video debut on July 3, 2026.
One of the biggest extensions of the collaboration is the limited “Summer Coolish & Soh Room” at Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho, which recreates the commercial’s blue summer world inside a SkyTree-view twin room.

The room will feature blue-themed decorations, paper monuments shaped like Coolish and Soh, themed cushions, and a dedicated freezer stocked with 10 ice cream items made up of six Coolish varieties and four Soh varieties.


Guests will also be able to watch the collaboration movie from inside the room, turning the stay into a full themed experience built around the Miku and Suisei campaign visuals.
Exclusive guest bonuses include two take-home hotel room keys featuring the collaboration design, two original stickers, two Coolish-shaped ice packs and two bath powder items called “Kurisshi-yu” per room.

The room’s paper monuments and cushions are provided as in-room decorations and cannot be taken home.

The collaboration room plan includes breakfast and is limited to a maximum of two guests in a SkyTree-side twin room, with check-in from 3:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m..
The campaign will also extend into public spaces with a Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line train takeover, turning one train set into a blue-themed display filled with Hatsune Miku and Hoshimachi Suisei visuals from July 13 to July 27, 2026.

A baseball tie-in is also planned for July 20, 2026 at ZOZO Marine Stadium during the Chiba Lotte Marines game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks.
The event, titled “Cold and Blue Summer Has Arrived: Coolish & Soh Day,” will feature Hoshimachi Suisei throwing the ceremonial first pitch, while Hatsune Miku will also appear as part of the stadium entertainment.
To celebrate the collaboration, Lotte will also run an online shop campaign featuring original Hatsune Miku and Hoshimachi Suisei merchandise.

Customers who purchase eligible ice cream products through the Lotte official online shop during the campaign period can enter a lottery for a two-piece set of original can badges featuring the collaboration artwork, with 100 winners selected overall.

A separate Coolish official X campaign will give fans another chance to win exclusive artwork items by following the official account and quote-posting the designated campaign post with the hashtag “#冷たくて青い夏が来た” during the entry period.
The social media campaign will award a special B2 illustration poster featuring Miku and Suisei to 20 winners.

The Lotte official online shop can badge campaign runs from July 6 to August 31, 2026, while the Coolish official X poster campaign runs from July 4 at 3:00 p.m. to July 17 at 11:59 p.m..
Reservations for the “Summer Coolish & Soh Room” at Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho open on July 3, 2026, with stays available from July 5 to September 27, 2026, while the new Coolish and Soh TV commercial starring Hatsune Miku and Hoshimachi Suisei begins airing nationally within Japan from July 7, 2026.
