Haruhi Suzumiya Celebrates 20 Years with Limited Edition Seiko Collab Watch

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its anime adaptation with a new limited-edition Seiko chronograph created especially for fans of the iconic series.

Based on the light novel series written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya follows the adventures of the SOS Brigade, an unofficial high school club led by the eccentric Haruhi Suzumiya as they unknowingly become entangled with aliens, time travelers, espers, and other supernatural mysteries hiding beneath everyday school life.

When the anime premiered in 2006, its unconventional broadcast order and the unforgettable Hare Hare Yukai ending dance helped turn the series into a global phenomenon, leaving a lasting influence on anime fandom that continues to be celebrated two decades later.

Created in collaboration with Japanese watchmaker Seiko, the commemorative chronograph has been designed around Haruhi’s signature school uniform, with a metallic light blue dial that subtly reveals a large letter “H” depending on how the light catches its surface.

The watch is filled with references to the series, including the red armband worn by the SOS Brigade’s leader, a megaphone motif, and the organization’s emblem integrated into the dial.

A smoky blue genuine leather strap continues the school uniform-inspired color scheme, while the stainless steel case houses a quartz movement and offers water resistance suitable for everyday use.

Each watch is presented in a special collector’s box featuring the anime’s 20th anniversary logo in gold foil, with every piece individually engraved on the case back with its own unique edition number from the limited production run of 2,000 watches.
