Gundam fans set to vote for the next major Gunpla kit re-release
Gunpla enthusiasts worldwide are gearing up for a major annual event.
The “Master Grade (MG) Reissue Fan Vote“ is an annual vote where the Gunpla community can choose a previously released Master Grade kit to be reissued, making a sought-after model available to a wider audience once again.
The Master Grade (MG) line of Gunpla is celebrated for its intricate detail, internal mechanical frames, and impressive articulation at a 1/100 scale.
Since its inception in 1995, the MG series has been a cornerstone for serious builders, offering a balance between complexity and ease of building.
Over the years, many popular MG kits have gone out of regular production, becoming rare and often expensive on the secondary market.
BANDAI SPIRITS’ reissue vote directly addresses this demand from fans, allowing them to collectively decide which of these “long-lost favorites” should return to production.
Other fan votes are also held throughout the year, such as the “Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2024” which saw the “RG 1/144 Destiny Impulse” Gunpla model kit enter back into production with not just one, but two production runs, due to high demand.
These fan-driven polls are important events within the Gunpla community and are a rare example of direct engagement between a company and its fanbase.
Past reissue campaigns have successfully brought back numerous iconic kits, including both general retail releases and previously exclusive Premium Bandai items, which are typically produced in limited runs and sold through Bandai’s online hobby store.
These reissues provides an invaluable opportunity for new collectors to acquire kits they missed or for seasoned builders to replace well-loved models.
The voting process will be conducted exclusively on the Bandai Hobby Site.
Upon the campaign’s launch, fans will find detailed instructions and a comprehensive list of eligible Master Grade kits.
Participants will then cast their votes for the model they wish to see reissued.
The kit that receives the most votes will be selected for an upcoming production run, ensuring its availability to the market.
BANDAI SPIRITS has confirmed that voting will open on Monday, July 7th, at 12:00 noon Japan Standard Time (JST) on the official Bandai Hobby Site.
