GooNECT√2 Heading to Switch This May

The upcoming game is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch in May 2026 with a simultaneous worldwide release.

Building on the foundation of its predecessor, which was previously exclusive to the Japanese market, this sequel aims to bring the series’ unique brand of cooperative gameplay to a global audience.

The experience centers on a spirited journey through a vibrant 3D world where two players must maintain a constant physical connection by holding hands to reach the finish line.

Players can team up with a friend for local couch co-op or connect with others online to navigate an unlimited array of randomly generated stages.

The gameplay features eight distinct difficulty levels designed to test the coordination of partners as they use stretchy, rubber-like arms to overcome platforming challenges.

Pairs must work together to bypass obstacles such as towering wooden blocks, giant basketballs, and strong wind gusts that threaten to tear them apart.

If players ever let go of each other’s hands during the course of a level, they will face an immediate game over.

Mechanics include pulling and launching one another or using a partner as a stepping stone to navigate the environment.

While designed for two people, the game also supports a solo mode where a single player can choose to control both characters simultaneously in an offline excursion.

Performance is tracked through a Bond Level rank at the conclusion of every stage, which factors in clear times, the number of restarts used, and the total hearts collected.

The developers have expressed excitement about introducing the franchise to new regions while maintaining the original’s focus on fun and friendship building.
