Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman 1

A brand new trailer for the second season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman was revealed during a stage event at NBC Universal Entertainment Japan’s AnimeJapan 2026 booth on March 28, 2026.

The upcoming season is scheduled to begin its broadcast in July 2026 and will continue the journey of the protagonist, Beryl Gardinant.

The story follows Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed humble old man and rural sword instructor who unexpectedly becomes a special trainer for the elite knights of the Liberion Order.

As Beryl moves to the capital, he is reunited with former pupils who have become high-ranking knights, powerful wizards, and top-tier adventurers.

Director Akio Kazumi, known for his work on Loner Life in Another World, returns to lead the production at animation studios Passione and Hayabusa Film.

The production team includes series compositor Kunihiko Okada, who previously worked on The Eminence in Shadow, and character designer Satsuki Hayasaki.

The musical score for the series is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, the veteran composer behind the music of Fairy Tail.

The original light novels are published in English by J-Novel Club, providing international fans with access to the source material ahead of the July 2026 premiere.

The latest promotional material, including the teaser visual and trailer, highlights the increasing challenges Beryl faces as his reputation grows within the capital.
