Dragon Ball Returns to the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai for Huge New Goku vs Jackie Chun Premium Diorama

Bandai has officially revealed a new premium Dragon Ball figure set that recreates Goku and Jackie Chun’s legendary final battle at the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai.
The “DRAGON BALL WORLD COLLECTABLE FIGURE PREMIUM -TENKAICHI BUDOKAI-” combines four character figures with a large recreation of the original tournament arena, allowing several moments from one of Dragon Ball’s earliest major battles to be displayed together.

The 21st Tenkaichi Budokai takes place relatively early in Goku’s journey, following his training under Master Roshi alongside Krillin and marking the first time the pair enter the famous World Martial Arts Tournament.

Unknown to his students, Roshi secretly enters under the name Jackie Chun because he fears that an easy victory could make Goku and Krillin overconfident and discourage them from continuing their martial arts training.

Goku eventually reaches the final and faces Jackie Chun directly, beginning a lengthy fight that pushes both characters through increasingly unusual techniques before Roshi narrowly takes the victory.

Bandai’s new set focuses specifically on that championship match, with the approximately 24 cm tall Tenkaichi Budokai arena providing the backdrop for several separate scenes from the battle.

A roughly 4 cm Goku figure recreates his Saru-Ken, or Monkey Fist technique, which sees the young fighter imitate the movements of a monkey in an attempt to throw Jackie Chun off balance.

Jackie Chun stands approximately 6 cm tall and responds with his Sui-Ken, or Drunken Fist, adopting unpredictable staggering movements that force Goku to adapt again during the fight.

The approximately 7 cm tournament announcer is also included, recreating the commentator who presides over the match and announces the beginning of the final.

The largest character in the set is Great Ape Goku at approximately 15 cm tall, representing the moment Goku sees the full moon during the battle and transforms inside the tournament grounds.

That transformation forces Jackie Chun to use a full-power Kamehameha to destroy the Moon, returning Goku to normal and allowing the championship fight to continue until its eventual conclusion.

All four figures can be positioned around the included arena, turning the release into a diorama-style recreation of the tournament rather than simply grouping several unrelated World Collectable Figures together.

Bandai’s World Collectable Figure series has been running through the Banpresto brand since 2009 and is best known for small stylized figures designed to let collectors build large character lineups without requiring the space of conventional scale statues.

The “PREMIUM” format pushes that concept considerably further here through the much larger arena and Great Ape, while retaining the compact proportions of Goku, Jackie Chun and the announcer.

Great Ape Goku has already received another major Bandai release during 2026 through the “Ichiban Kuji Dragon Ball THE CHRONICLE OF GOKU,” where an approximately 26 cm “Great Ape Goku SOFVICS” figure was reserved for the Last One Prize.

The 21st Tenkaichi Budokai itself has also recently returned through other official merchandise, with a Dragon Ball kitchenware collection recreating the “DELICIOUS Saikan” restaurant visited immediately after the tournament.

That scene sees Goku consume an enormous meal that wipes out the 500,000 Zeni prize money Jackie Chun had just won.

Original Dragon Ball has received further attention throughout 2026, including the “Ichiban Kuji Dragon Ball EX Showdown! Red Ribbon Army” collection and LEGO’s first-ever Dragon Ball set, which pairs young Goku with a large brick-built Shenron.
