Goku Summons Shenron in Dragon Ball's First-Ever Official LEGO Set

LEGO has officially revealed its first-ever Dragon Ball set, transforming Shenron, Goku, and the seven legendary Dragon Balls into a major new display build launching later this year.

The new “LEGO Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku” sees the collaboration center its debut release on the original Dragon Ball series rather than one of the franchise’s later series such as Dragon Ball Z or Super.

LEGO first confirmed its partnership with Dragon Ball earlier this month through a mysterious teaser showing the seven Dragon Balls gathering together before asking fans if they were “ready to make a wish”.

At the time, no actual products had been shown, leaving the characters, source material, size, and direction of the collaboration completely under wraps.

The newly revealed set answers that question with a large brick-built recreation of Shenron, the Eternal Dragon summoned when all seven Dragon Balls are gathered together.

Shenron coils around a central stone structure rising from a black display base, with all seven Dragon Balls arranged below him to recreate the moment immediately before a wish is granted.

The finished model uses 1,764 pieces and stands approximately 32 cm tall and 24 cm wide, giving Shenron a substantial presence while keeping the set focused primarily on display.

Goku also makes his official LEGO minifigure debut as part of the set, with his appearance based on the younger version of the character from the original Dragon Ball series and retaining his Saiyan tail.

His orange gi features the familiar Kame School emblem, while LEGO has created a new molded hair piece to reproduce Goku’s distinctive spiked hairstyle in minifigure form.

Goku can be displayed riding the Flying Nimbus alongside Shenron, with the minifigure also accompanied by his Power Pole.

A separate display plaque uses the classic Dragon Ball manga logo, reinforcing the decision to base LEGO’s first release around the early adventures that introduced Goku, Shenron and the Dragon Balls themselves.

The set arrives during another major period for the franchise, with “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” set to return the anime to television in October through an extensively reworked version of Dragon Ball Super’s opening storyline.

LEGO has already confirmed that “Shenron & Goku” will not be a one-off release, with the company’s partnership with Toei Animation set to continue through additional Dragon Ball sets during 2027.

Exactly which characters, battles, and locations will receive sets next has yet to be officially revealed, although LEGO has described the new Shenron model as only the beginning of its plans for Dragon Ball.

“LEGO Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku” will be available early to LEGO Insiders from November 1, 2026, before receiving its wider release through LEGO from November 4, priced at $179.99 in the US, €179.99 across much of Europe, and £129.99 in the UK.
