Digimon Story: Time Stranger Gets Major New Expansion DLC

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision have officially announced a large-scale expansion downloadable content for the role-playing game Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

This upcoming expansion is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2027.

The announcement was made during the Digimon Con 2026 event held on March 21, 2026.

Alongside the DLC news, Bandai Namco revealed the results of the 139th Digimon Referendum, which polled fans on which creatures they most want to train or see in future titles.

The top ten fan-voted monsters included Gammamon, Loogamon, Kazemon, Gumdramon, Pulsemon, Herissmon, Terriermon Assistant, Meicoomon, Ludomon, and Gekkomon.

Producer Ryosuke Hara confirmed that development is already underway and stated that the expansion will partially reflect these popular voting results.

Hara also teased that voice actor Mutsumi Tamura will return to the project, implying a significant role for the character Aegiomon.

When questioned by host Tsujimon about whether Aegiomon’s presence suggests a story set in a parallel world or the future, Hara praised the reasoning but declined to provide further details.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

The game is also set to launch for Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 on July 9, 2026, in Japan, followed by a worldwide release on July 10, 2026.
