Digimon Celebrates 5 Anime Anniversaries with Huge New Live Concert
Image by James RichardsonToei Animation has officially announced a new Digimon anniversary concert, revealing a special key visual and details of what fans can expect from the upcoming live musical event.
The new “DIGIMON CONCERT ~2026 Anniversary & BEATBREAK~” will celebrate major milestones from five of the franchise’s anime series, with commemorative artwork featuring 38 characters and partner Digimon dressed in formal attire for the occasion.

Digimon first launched in Japan in 1997 as a series of handheld virtual pets, allowing players to raise digital monsters and battle against one another before expanding into video games, manga and anime.

The franchise’s first television anime, Digimon Adventure, premiered in 1999 and introduced a group of children transported to the Digital World, where they form bonds with powerful creatures known as Digimon.

The concert will mark the 25th anniversary of Digimon Tamers, the 20th anniversary of Digimon Data Squad, the 10th anniversary of Digimon Universe: App Monsters and five years since the debut of Digimon Ghost Game, alongside the franchise’s latest television series, DIGIMON BEATBREAK.

The live performance will feature two separate acts, beginning with a selection of opening and ending theme songs from the four anniversary series, performed alongside other music associated with their respective stories.
The second half will focus on DIGIMON BEATBREAK, which celebrated its own first anniversary on October 5, 2026, featuring specially arranged versions of music from the anime.

Composer Arisa Okehazama, who created the soundtrack for DIGIMON BEATBREAK and has previously worked on anime including Jujutsu Kaisen and The Apothecary Diaries, will supervise the arrangements created by musicians Soshi Matsumura and Hayato Kinoshita.

Two special guest performers have also been confirmed, with Ayumi Miyazaki and Takayoshi Tanimoto joining the concert to perform songs alongside the live musicians.
Miyazaki is best known among Digimon fans for performing “brave heart”, the evolution theme from the original Digimon Adventure anime, alongside several other songs from the franchise.

Tanimoto previously performed “One Vision” for Digimon Tamers and has contributed music to numerous anime and tokusatsu productions, including Dragon Ball Kai and Digimon Adventure:.

Toei Animation has also revealed a commemorative pin set featuring medal-style designs of Agumon, Guilmon, Gatchmon, Gammamon and Gekkomon as exclusive concert souvenirs.

Digimon’s anniversary celebrations have already inspired several other merchandise releases during 2026, including Bandai’s 25th anniversary D-Ark virtual pets, which introduced new color-screen versions of the iconic devices from Digimon Tamers.

More recently, Bandai also unveiled two new Digital Monster COLOR devices inspired by DIGIMON BEATBREAK, featuring characters and gameplay mechanics from the series following its conclusion in September.
