Death Stranding 2 "Ghost Mech Coffins" model kit release date and price confirmed as new images revealed

Kotobukiya has revealed new images and the release date of their model kit of the “Ghost Mech Coffins” from Kojima Productions’ upcoming game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

The price of the kit, which was previously announced at Shizuoka Hobby Show back in May, has also been confirmed.

Death Stranding is a unique action game created by Hideo Kojima, known for its blend of open-world exploration and themes of connection and isolation in a post-apocalyptic world.

The sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is set to continue this critically acclaimed universe.

The “Ghost Mech Coffins” are enemy mechs designed by Yoji Shinkawa, the renowned art director for Kojima Productions, celebrated for his distinctive mechanical and character designs across various game franchises.

This model kit offers fans a chance to build and display a detailed recreation of one of the sequel’s new mechanical threats.

The 1/20 scale “Ghost Mech Coffins” model kit stands approximately 180mm tall and is constructed from PS, ABS, and non-phthalate PVC.

The kit meticulously recreates Yoji Shinkawa’s original design, offering a range of features for modelers.

The model comes equipped with a variety of armaments, allowing for customizable display options:

Builders can choose which weapons to equip during assembly.

The kit also allows for the transformation into its four-legged state, and a clear mini-base is included to support this configuration for display.

Further intricate details include a bendable tail with a metal core, allowing it to support the main body.

The Chiral Particle Cannon can be configured for either the right or left side through part swapping.

The internal details of the coffin on the mech’s back are also reproduced, and the kit comes with marking decals for various sections of the model.

The 1/20 “Ghost Mech Coffins” scale model is set for release in October, priced at ¥9,900 (tax included).
