Netflix announced a brand-new trailer and key visual for the upcoming anime adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi’s debut manga, Dandelion, during a stage event at AnimeJapan 2026 on March 28, 2026.

The series is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix starting from April 16, 2026.

The series follows the Japanese Angel Federation’s Send-Off Department as they track restless spirits to guide them to the afterlife.

Tetsuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane of the 21st Division’s Dandelion Clan distinguish themselves by resolving the personal regrets of spirits rather than rushing through their cases.

Thirteen additional cast members have been confirmed for the production, joining previously announced leads Chikahiro Kobayashi as Tetsuo and Megumi Han as Misaki.

The new voice talent includes Mamoru Miyano as Seiki Kyokawa, Kazuhiko Inoue as Daigoro Kyokawa, Kensho Ono as Yuichi Kyokawa, and Yuki Ono as Shinji Kyokawa.

Other cast members include Tomokazu Sugita as the masked Kikugumi Leader, Shinichiro Miki as Free Isobe, Fumihiko Tachiki as Streaked Pork Man, and Susumu Chiba as Tamesuke Naito.

The ensemble is further rounded out by Satoshi Hino as Inuyama, Rie Kugimiya as Misaki’s mother Asako, Daisuke Sakaguchi as the professor Raymond Hondo, Kikuko Inoue as Seiki’s mother, and Kujira as Inomata.

Dandelion was originally a one-shot manga submitted to Shueisha’s Tenkaichi Manga Award in 2002, where it received an honorable mention before its publication in Weekly Shonen Jump.

The story was later included in the first volume of Hideaki Sorachi’s most famous work, Gintama, serving as a precursor to his career.

Daisuke Mataga is directing the anime at studio NAZ with series composition by Yosuke Suzuki and character designs by Ai Asari.

The musical score for the series is being composed by Yuki Hayashi, and the theme song Kocchi no Kento was previously revealed on March 9, 2026.
