Cowboy Bebop Officially Returns With Exclusive New 25th Anniversary Fashion Collection
Image by James RichardsonCowboy Bebop is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its theatrical movie with its first-ever collaboration with Japanese fashion brand BEAMS, unveiling a major new collection inspired by the cult sci-fi anime.
Created through the brand’s “BEAMS MANGART” project, the collection features original artwork by art director Tetsuya Nagato, who has transformed memorable scenes and characters from the series into elaborate collages for a range of exclusive designs.

Originally broadcast in 1998, Cowboy Bebop was directed by Shinichirō Watanabe and follows a group of bounty hunters traveling across the solar system aboard the spaceship Bebop, led by former criminal Spike Spiegel and his partner Jet Black.

Their adventures bring them together with gambler Faye Valentine, young hacker Edward and the unusually intelligent corgi Ein, with the anime blending science fiction, westerns and film noir alongside a jazz-inspired soundtrack composed by Yoko Kanno.

The series received a theatrical movie in 2001, known internationally as “Cowboy Bebop: The Movie”, which follows the crew as they investigate a deadly incident on Mars involving a mysterious terrorist and an enormous bounty.

This year’s anniversary celebrations include a new 4K remaster of the film, supervised by Watanabe himself, with special cinema screenings planned across Japan to mark 25 years since its original release.
The anniversary also provides the inspiration for BEAMS’ latest collaboration, which brings Cowboy Bebop into the brand’s established range of fashion projects inspired by Japanese anime, manga and gaming franchises.
BEAMS MANGART previously worked with Chainsaw Man on a fashion collection celebrating the Reze Arc movie in September 2025, followed by its fourth collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen later that year.

For Cowboy Bebop, Nagato has developed several contrasting visual styles, ranging from densely packed, full-color montages of the anime’s characters to black-and-white compositions and lighter illustrations focused on Edward and Ein.
