Titled “HUNTER×HUNTER THE STAGE 4: Part One”, the production will adapt the first half of the manga’s acclaimed Chimera Ant Arc, introducing live-action versions of Meruem, Neferpitou and several other major characters from the storyline.

Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, Hunter x Hunter began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998 and follows Gon Freecss, a young boy who sets out to become a Hunter and find his missing father, Ging.

The series has since become one of Japan’s most successful manga franchises, with two television anime adaptations and over 100 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The live-action stage series first launched in 2023, followed by a second production in 2024 and a third installment adapting the Greed Island Arc in 2025.

The upcoming fourth production will continue directly from the events of Greed Island, with Gon and Killua becoming involved in the growing threat posed by the Chimera Ants, a dangerous species capable of consuming humans and developing increasingly powerful abilities.
The story eventually sees the emergence of the Chimera Ant King Meruem and his three Royal Guards, leading to one of the manga’s most intense and emotionally charged storylines.

For this new adaptation, Rento Nishiyama and Nichika Akutsu will reprise their respective roles as Gon and Killua, alongside several other returning performers from the previous stage productions.

The Phantom Troupe members Feitan, Phinks, Shalnark and Shizuku are all returning from previous productions, with their appearances forming part of the Chimera Ant storyline’s wider events.

Towako Ojima and Kazuma Yazawa are also credited as swing performers, providing additional support across the production’s cast.
The newly released main visual brings together the enlarged cast in their stage costumes, with individual character portraits offering a closer look at the live-action interpretations of the Chimera Ants, Phantom Troupe members and Hunters.

A promotional video has also been released, previewing the atmosphere of the production ahead of its debut, with Akira Yamazaki returning to write and direct the adaptation and Tsuyoshi Sakabe handling the music.
The story will be presented across two separate productions, with Part One opening in early 2027 and Part Two scheduled to follow in July and August 2027, also in Tokyo and Kyoto.
“HUNTER×HUNTER THE STAGE 4: Part One” will run at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater in Tokyo from January 23 to February 7, 2027, before moving to Kyoto Theater from February 13 to February 21.
