Coca Cola Japan reveals huge new Star Wars collab with 45 exclusive can and bottle designs to collect

A new, large-scale collaboration has been announced between Coca-Cola and the iconic Star Wars franchise.

The campaign is being held to celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of the new film, The Mandalorian & Grogu.

The partnership will feature a massive lineup of 45 different limited-edition package designs for Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar products.

These designs will showcase a total of 18 different characters from across the entire Star Wars saga, including classic heroes and villains like Darth Vader, Yoda, and Luke Skywalker, as well as newer characters like The Mandalorian, Grogu, and Ahsoka Tano.

Some character designs will be exclusive to vending machine products.

In addition to the collectible packaging, several different promotional campaigns will be held.

A points-based lottery can be entered by scanning a QR code on the product packaging.

The prizes for this campaign include:

  • 1 Point Course: A Coke ON Drink Ticket (10,000 winners)
  • 3 Point Course: An original coaster set (4,000 winners)

  • 5 Point Course: An original bomber jacket (1,000 winners)

  • 10 Point Course: An original sweatshirt (2 designs, 1,000 winners total)

A separate in-store, gift-with-purchase promotion will also be held, where customers who buy any four collaboration products at the same time will receive a free, original plastic tumbler while supplies last.

For users of the “Coke ON” app, a special digital stamp rally will be active. By purchasing a product from a compatible vending machine, users will receive one of eight possible random, original Star Wars-themed digital stamps.

Special, high-tech in-store displays will also be set up at seven major retail locations across Japan, which will feature a display of “floating” cans. These locations include:

  • MEGA Don Quijote, Misato (Saitama)
  • Izumi Youme Town, Hiroshima (Hiroshima)
  • TRIAL, Arao (Kumamoto)
  • Osakaya Shop, Imizu (Toyama)
  • San-A Urasoe West Coast PARCO City (Okinawa)

The massive “Coca-Cola x Star Wars” collaboration is scheduled to begin next Monday, the 1st of September, and will run until the 26th of October, 2025.
