Classic Shooter Seicross Joins Console Archives on April 9

Hamster Corporation has announced that the classic shooting game Seicross will join the Console Archives library on April 9, 2026.
The title is scheduled to launch for both the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch 2 with a retail price of $7.99 or 800 yen.
Originally developed by Nichibutsu, the game first arrived on 8-bit home consoles in 1986 following its tenure in arcades.
Players take control of a high-speed hover bike on the planet Petra to rescue peaceful citizens from an invading tribe that has turned to evil.
A central gameplay mechanic involves the bike gaining weight as more captives are rescued, which increases fuel consumption but provides larger score bonuses upon completing a stage.
This release is part of the broader Console Archives series, a project dedicated to faithfully reproducing vintage home console masterpieces for modern hardware.
The modern port includes several quality of life updates such as customizable button layouts, adjustable screen settings, and the ability to save or load progress at any moment.
To accommodate a global audience, the digital manual and options menu will be localized in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Hamster Corporation continues to expand its preservation efforts through this series, which mirrors its long-running Arcade Archives initiative by bringing historical titles to new generations of gamers.
