Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc holds world premiere in Tokyo

The official world premiere for the new animated film “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” was held in Japan on the 15th of September, 2025.
The film is highly anticipated by fans of the series, and major cinema chains in Japan are gearing up for its release, with some set to stock an exclusive Chainsaw Man themed popcorn bucket.

The premiere was held at the TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku in Tokyo, and a special stage greeting took place after the screening, featuring the main voice cast of the film.
In attendance were Kikunosuke Toya (the voice of Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa), and Reina Ueda (Reze).

After watching the completed film for the first time, Kikunosuke Toya enthusiastically asked the audience, “The action scenes, which you could say are the best part of the ‘Reze Arc,’ were just unbelievable, right?”.
Tomori Kusunoki shared her thoughts from a fan’s perspective, saying, “As a fan of Chainsaw Man, I had always wanted to see the ‘Reze Arc’ in a theater, so I was elated that my dream had come true.”

Reina Ueda, who joins the cast as the titular character Reze, commented on her approach to the role.
She explained that the direction she was given was to be “very forward with Denji,” and so she tried to portray a character who was pure and cute, without any ulterior motives.

A special video message was also shown from the musician Kenshi Yonezu, who performed both the opening theme, “IRIS OUT,” and the ending theme, “JANE DOE,” for the film.
He revealed that the music video for “IRIS OUT” uses footage directly from the film’s main trailer.
He explained that he was so impressed by the “incredible talent and love” that went into the trailer that he asked if he could use it as the music video, and even incorporated some of its sound effects into the final song.

The movie is scheduled for a nationwide release in Japan on Friday, the 19th of September, 2025.
A number of collaborations have been announced related to the new Chainsaw Man film, including an official eyewear collection, a themed cafe, an official fashion line and even a themed menu at a popular ramen chain.
