One Piece’s Second Global Popularity Poll Officially Opens and Asks Fans to Pick Their Favorite from Over 1,500 Characters
The global One Piece community is bracing for another wave of competition as the race to crown the world’s favorite character officially begins.
Series creator Eiichiro Oda has launched the second “WT100” (World Top 100) global character popularity poll to celebrate the manga reaching a massive publication milestone.
The timing of this event arrives as excitement for the franchise reaches a fever pitch, particularly with the live-action adaptation nearing its return for a second season.
This new poll follows a five-year hiatus and coincides with the series surpassing a staggering 600 million copies in circulation worldwide.
Oda has marked this historic achievement with a unique project involving the series’ most guarded secret being submerged in a treasure chest at the bottom of the sea.
The author has confirmed that the written answer to the mystery of the “One Piece” will remain underwater and untouched until the final chapter of the manga is eventually released.
While the secret rests in the deep, fans can focus on supporting their favorites from a massive roster of 1,560 eligible characters.
The stakes for this second worldwide vote are high, as the top-ranking characters will be featured in exclusive new illustrations drawn by Oda himself.
The exclusive artwork will be utilised across a variety of official media, such as future video games and various pieces of merchandise.
Weekly updates for regional top-five rankings will provide a constant look at which characters are leading the pack in different parts of the world.
The final results of the global vote will be unveiled during a dedicated fan celebration scheduled for later this year.
Participants in Japan can also vote via traditional postcards by using physical tickets included in One Piece Volume 114, which was recently released in bookstores and online.
Regional weekly rankings are set to begin updates every Monday starting on March 16, 2026.
Voting for the “WT100” poll is now open following the launch of Volume 114 on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Fans can cast their votes through the official “WT100” website or by utilizing the “ONE PIECE BASE” mobile application.
Postcard entries in Japan remain valid for tickets found in Weekly Shonen Jump issues distributed between Monday, March 9, and Thursday, June 11, 2026.
The final results of the WT100 poll will be announced at the “ONE PIECE DAY ’26” event in August 2026.
The second season of the live-action One Piece series will premiere globally on Netflix on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
